15 Day Clean Eating Challenge

Do you need to clean-up your diet? And by diet I mean what you eat on a regular basis. I’ll admit it, I DO! One would think the owner of a Health Food Store would be the healthiest person in town. Well, I also wear other hats; wife, mom, cleaning lady and cook at my house :) Like everyone else, I am super busy. I do not always make the healthiest food choices, when I clearly know and understand that the food we eat directly impacts how we feel.

For the Full Circle Market 15 year anniversary, I am challenging to Clean up my Diet! I hope you will join me, and together we can all start changing the way our palates crave sugar and empty salty carbs!

Join us at Full Circle Market on Saturday, October 15th at Noon. We will have a short presentation on Clean Eating, Free Samples, Smoothie Samples, A One Week Meal Plan and a Goodie Bag for all those that want to participate.

If you are unable to make it to the store on Saturday, sign up to be on our email list. I will be sending out Daily Emails for ideas and support!

Here is what I mean by “Cleaning up my Diet”

  • Eat only Whole Foods! For example, instead of a blueberry muffin, eat a small bowl of steel cut oats topped with fresh or frozen blueberries

  • No Processed Sugar (High Fructose Corn Syrup), and NO Sugar in general. Stevia and small amounts of raw honey and pure maple syrup accepted. Avoid Sugar Alcohols for this, since they are processed. You may eat fresh fruit since there is no added sugar, it is all natural delicious!

  • No Booze.

  • Limit Dairy and Cheese. Make sure any yogurt you eat has NO Added Sugar, Artificial Colors or Preservatives.

  • No fried foods

  • Become a label reader! More NO’s: Avoid anything with MSG, Hydrogenated Oils, Artificial Colors, Artificial Preservatives, Artificial Sweeteners (Splenda is NOT Natural and not allowed. It is also called Sucralose)

  • Protein. Eat only Lean Meats. Poultry, Fish, Beans, Legumes, Tofu and Tempeh are ok. No Pork ~Sorry Bacon Lovers. Limit red meat.

Helpful tips:

Keep meals simple! If you are at the grocery and can’t read an ingredient on the label, avoid it!

Eat when you are hungry! Everybody is different. Some people do best eating every 4 hours. Some people prefer to fast for 16 hours, then eat only during an 8 hour period of the day. Some people do best with 3 strict meals and no snack! The goal is to regulate your digestive system, which in return may help with energy levels and to maintain healthy blood sugar and insulin levels.

I hope you will all join us for the 15 Day Clean Eating Challenge!! ~Laura, Owner of Full Circle Market
